Middle school bowlers close out season
The Rhinelander Area Youth Bowling Club’s middle school team finished its season with a 7-0 loss to Amherst No. 1 Sunday, April 12 at Nick’s Hodag Lanes.

The Rhinelander High School softball team remained unbeaten in Great Northern Conference play Thursday, April 9, scoring five runs in the seventh inning, including a walkoff home run by junior Ava Rathbun, to defeat Antigo 9-7 in the Hodag Dome.

The Rhinelander High School girls’ soccer team remained unbeaten on the season Thursday as it defeated Northland Pines Thursday 3-1 in a Great Northern Conference contest at Mike Webster Stadium.

The Hodags swept singles and claimed a pair of match tiebreakers Thursday, April 9 as they defeated D.C. Everest 6-1 in the Hodag Dome in non-conference play.

The Hodags scored all four of their runs in the fifth inning — aided by a trio of Antigo errors — and held the Robins to only two hits as they scored a 4-2 victory in Wisconsin Rapids.
RHS track places top 5 in Wausau indoor meets
The Hodag girls competed Thursday, April 9, coming home fifth out of 13 teams in the Wausau West Girls Indoor. Rhinelander came home fourth the following day when it was the boys’ turn to run in the Wausau West fieldhouse.

The Rhinelander High School golf team will tee it up for real beginning this coming Monday, and while the Hodags have yet to get outside due to some pesky winter weather, coach Adam Schmidt said he has confidence his team can perform well this season, despite inconsistency last spring.
