Small track crew opens season at Ripon
The Rhinelander High School track team was far from full strength for its first competition of the season, but the team had a handful of individual standouts in the Princeton/Green Lake Invite held Friday at Ripon College.
Two RHS/Pines skiers compete for Team Wisconsin at Western Alpine nationals
Rhinelander/Northland Pines Alpine Ski team members Ben Olson and Eli Repenshek were part of Team Wisconsin’s squad that placed third in the men’s competition, second in the women’s competition and third overall in the 2026 Western Regional High School Championships, which took place March 17-18 in Loveland, Colo.
Hodags’ Aubryn Clark named honorable mention All-State in Division 2
Rhinelander High School junior Aubryn Clark was one of 16 players statewide the receive honorable mention in the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association’s All-State Division 2 team, announced Wednesday, March 18.

GNC preparing for hockey expansion
The Great Northern Conference’s house is getting fuller in terms of boys’ hockey. With one program already slated to join the conference in two years, and another potentially joining next year, the GNC could be looking at as many as 10 teams in the sport in the near future.
Loka, Lindner named Hodags’ most valuable wrestlers
A pair of juniors, Ivan Loka and Cassidy Lindner, took home top honors for the Rhinelander High School boys’ and girls’ wrestling teams Tuesday, March 10. The two were named the programs most valuable wrestlers during a banquet in the James Williams Middle School commons.
Shefveland wins Hodag Hockey’s Al Baker Award
Dylan Shefveland walked away with the Rhinelander High School boys’ hockey team’s top honor Monday, March 9, as he was presented with the Alfred O. Baker Outstanding Hockey Player award during the team’s banquet at the Cedric A. Vig Outdoor Classroom.
