River Monsters claim home opener over Marshfield
Ryan Jamison allowed two hits over seven innings, the River Monsters got 10 hits from 10 different players and committed only one error in an 8-2 victory over the Marshfield Chaparrals.

A 'monsterous' debut
There were a lot of first collected by some familiar names on Sunday as they began a new chapter of Rhinelander baseball. Most importantly, the newly-minted River Monsters collected their first win in Rhinelander's return to the adult baseball scene.

The James Williams Middle School track team scored a sweep of the boys' and girls' division of a five-team meet at Mike Webster Stadium Monday, May 8. The JWMS boys won by 58 points over Medford while the Hodag girls bested Medford by 43 1/2 points.

RIA to host second curling event Saturday
Following the demand for its initial sessions, the Rhinelander Curling Club will host another "Learn to Curl" session at the Rhinelander Ice Arena on Saturday, April 29.
No stone left unturned
A quick Google search for "curling clubs in Wisconsin" will turn up 20 locations within the Badger State, but none located within an hour of Rhinelander. A number of enthusiasts are looking to change that.
