Hodag soccer snaps 8-game winless streak, beats Mosinee 1-0
Hugh Wiese converted a penalty kick in the 30th minute, which proved to be the only goal in Rhinelander's 1-0 triumph over Mosinee Tuesday at Edgewood Park.
Hodag volleyball fades against Lakeland, falls in four sets
Rhinelander took the first set 25-21, but Lakeland won the last three 25-16, 25-19, 25-13.
Almost doesn't count
Big plays, and a key injury, cost the Hodag football team a chance to become playoff eligible, for at least one week. Mosinee's Trey Fitzgerald hooked up with wide receiver Cyle Kowalski for three touchdowns and the Indians rallied for a 21-20 win at Veterans Park in Mosinee.
Fit to be tied ... again
Lakeland scored in the 62nd minute, and had plenty of other quality scoring chances in the second half, but the Hodags did enough to preserve a 1-1 deadlock at IncredibleBank Field. It was Rhinelander's fifth tie of the season and fourth in its last five contests.
Hodag swimmers sweep Antigo in 127-43 win
The Hodags won all 11 events and had eight different swimmers record a victory in a 127-43 rout over Antigo at the McKenna Aquatic Center.
