The Hodags were frustrated on a steamy night in Mosinee, held to a season-low 136 yards of offense in a 14-7 defeat to Mosinee at Veterans Memorial Stadium in a battle of the Great Northern Conference's two unbeaten teams.

The Rhinelander High School boys' soccer team's faint hopes for a Great Northern Conference championship repeat were officially dashed Thursday night. The Hodag offense again struggled to put the finishing touches on its attacks and played Northland Pines to a scoreless draw at Mike Webster Stadium.

GNC supremacy on the line tonight
The winner of tonight's matchup between Rhinelander and Mosinee will move to 5-0 in the GNC and control its own destiny over the final two weeks of the regular season - needing to win only once more to secure at least share of the conference title.

Johnson wins player of the year as Hodags close out GNC
Annika Johnson took a little extra time after dropping the second set and came back strong as she defeated Wausau Newman's Becky Larrain 10-2 in a match tiebreaker to win the conference's No. 1 singles title, and player of the year honors in the process
RNC mountain bike team wins again in Eau Claire
The RNC squad recorded four podium finishes and edged Sauk Prairie by nine points to take first in Division 2 Sunday at Lowes Creek in Eau Claire. The Rhinelander High School squad, down a few riders, took 21st in Division 1.

Two Rhinelander sisters, Sophia and Ella Miljevich, stayed on their feet the longest and took down the rest of the competition to finish first and second in the women's division of the Footstock National Figure Eight Barefoot Championships held in late August in Crandon.

Hodag tennis wraps up title at suspended GNC meet
Rhinelander went a combined 13-4 in a long day of tennis to lock up its ninth Great Northern Conference title, but still had four individual championship matches in the balance when play was suspended due to darkness following more than nine hours of tennis.
