Big innings bite Hodag softball again against Medford, Wausau East
Whether its hits, walks or errors, the Rhinelander High School softball team has struggled of late figuring out ways to string together three outs to get itself out of big innings for the opposition.

Members of the Rhinelander High School boys’ hockey team scrimmaged Chequamegon/Phillips at the Rhinelander Ice Arena Sunday, April 7. It was the first of five Sunday scrimmages the teams will have at the RIA through the month of April and into early May.
Raiders stymie Hodags, steal two points in shootout
The Hodags dominated every statistical category except the most important one, settling for a 0-0 tie with Medford. Rhinelander had four chances to earn an extra point in penalty kicks but fell in the shootout 4-3.

Hodag golfers take 3rd in GNC Open
The Hodags shot rounds of 330 and 328 Monday and Tuesday to finish third in the GNC Open at Trappers Turn. Rhinelander’s two-day total of 658 strokes was only three behind Mosinee for the runner-up spot and 37 off the pace of defending GNC champion Lakeland.
Lakeland softball defeats Rhinelander 21-0
Lakeland scored a whopping 16 times in the first inning and cruised to a 21-0 victory over the Hodags in three innings on Andrea Musson Field at the Haug Family Softball Complex.
