Treacherous ice sends Escort into rollover on U.S. Highway 8 in Pelican
Icy conditions have contributed to another crash on U.S. Highway 8. On Tuesday at 4:40 p.m., a Ford Escort was traveling westbound on Hwy. 8 through the town of Pelican when it slid across the median and hit the opposite ditch, rolling onto its roof.
Shoplifting sprees lead to Florence woman facing fines of up to $20,000
A Florence woman charged with a pair of drug-related felonies in October was arrested again Wednesday and charged with felony bail jumping, a class H felony, and class A misdemeanor retail theft after allegedly shoplifting $277.87 in items at the Rhinelander Walmart Supercenter.
