Cassian town board moves draft of enhanced wake ordinance forward
The Cassian town board Monday voted to send a draft hazardous wake ordinance to town attorney Greg Harrold for review before sending it to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) for a 60-day review there.
Fath, Garbowicz answer enhanced wake ordinance questions
St. Germain’s enhanced-wake committee conducted a question-and-answer session with Vilas County Sheriff Joe Fath during its Feb. 5 meeting. The group also discussed legal advice from town attorney Steve Garbowicz on the matter of regulating the use of enhanced-wake boats on town lakes.

Cassian board hears update on broadband project
The Cassian town board, as well as those in attendance for the group’s Feb. 10 meeting, received an update on Oneida County’s move toward enhanced broadband access for its residents. The update was provided by Tony Pharo, executive director of the Oneida County Economic Development Corporation (OCEDC).
Minocqua man seriously injured in snowmobile crash
A 22 year-old Minocqua man was seriously injured in a snowmobile accident in Hazelhurst late Monday night. According to a press release from the Oneida County sheriff’s office released Tuesday, the dispatch center received a report just before 9 a.m. of a snowmobile accident on McCormick Lake.
