HOSA Color Run
The Rhinelander High School HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) Club held its third annual Color Run Saturday, May 17 around the RHS campus. The event drew more than 100 runners for the 5-kilometer race and 17 for the 1-mile fun run.
Rhinelander school board purchases vehicles, approves end of year staff changes
The School District of Rhinelander (SDR) is taking advantage of a $500,000 loan from the Bureau of Commissioners of Public Lands to purchase eight new vehicles at once. The loan interest, which is a rate of 5.5 percent for a five-year loan, goes to the common school fund for libraries.
Demmer Library to hold Memorial Day Weekend used book sale
The Demmer Library will hold its Memorial Day Weekend Used Book Sale in the lower level of the library on Saturday, May 24, from 9:30 a.m. until noon. A wide selection of adult fiction and nonfiction, youth, children’s, hardcover, and paperback books will be available.

Rhinelander city council approves peer recovery coach for police department
The Rhinelander city common council agreed at its May 12 meeting for the Rhinelander police department to hire a peer recovery coach in a limited term capacity.
