Volunteer knitters in need of yarn
The Retired Senior Volunteer Program's knitting group is in need of yarn donations. The volunteers knit hats and mittens for all the Headstart children in Oneida County and also for the food pantry.

Woman's Club picnic
The Rhinelander GFWC Woman's Club held its annual membership kick-off picnic Aug. 8 at Pioneer Park. There were 54 women in attendance, seven of whom were new members.

ArtStart kicks off School of the Arts Legacy Program with writers' retreat
The final School Of The Arts in Rhinelander (SOA) was hosted in 2015 by the University of Wisconsin Division of Continuing Studies, ending a 50-year tradition. Since 2015, ArtStart has been working with UW-Continuing Studies to transition SOA to an ArtStart program.
5-year-old sells lemonade for OCHS
A local girl recently used an old-fashioned lemonade stand to make money to help pets in need. McKenzie Dix, 5, sold original and watermelon lemonade at her mother's yard sale July 28 and 29.
