empty bowls event raises nearly $1,500
Nine area food pantries recently received donations from the money raised at the Empty Bowls event at Nicolet College. In all, the event raised $1,476, which was divided equally among the pantries.
GFWC Woman's club spreads holiday cheer
The Northwoods Choraliers brought warmth and Christmas cheer to the Dec, 12 meeting of GFWC-Rhinelander Woman's Club. Following the vocal performance, the club initiated 11 new members and collected over $200 for the Salvation Army bell ringers.

Charter NEX Films and its staff have raised $1,100 for the Northwoods Alliance for Temporary Housing (NATH). Employees were given the option to donate their $50 holiday gift card to NATH's Frederick Place homeless shelter.
