Rhinelander High School grad to speak at annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service forum
The Northwoods Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (NUUF) will host its annual speaker forum in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service on Sunday, Jan. 14 at 1:30 p.m. at the Nicolet College Theater in Rhinelander.

The Trout Lake Ladies Golf League recently received a $6,000 donation from Marthaler Chevrolet Buick of Minocqua. Mark Biesterfeld, general manager of Marthaler, donated $100 for each car sold during the month of October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Bell ringers collect over $32,000 for Salvation Army

James Williams Middle School (JWMS) students just wrapped up an annual "Hoops for Heart" event that raises money for the American Heart Association. All students participated in a variety of basketball activities in their physical education classes to learn how to live heart healthy lifestyles.

NATH receives grant from Green Bay Packers Foundation
Earlier this year the Northwoods Alliance for Temporary Housing, Inc. (NATH) applied for a grant with the Green Bay Packers Foundation. On Dec. 5, past NATH president Bill Miller and NATH executive director Tammy Modic went to Lambeau Field to be a part of a luncheon for grant recipients.
