RHS alum Comer earns WIAC player of the week honors
Rhinelander High School alum Bradley Comer, a senior for the UW-Stevens Point baseball team, earned position player of the week honors in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, the WIAC announced on Tuesday.
WIAA board approves football realignment, winter co-ops
The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Board of Control voted Tuesday to approve winter co-ops and a Conference Realignment Task Force recommendation for the football-only plans remanded by the board at its meeting last month.

Hodag track takes sixth at Medford meet
The Rhinelander High School track team finished in the middle of the pack Tuesday while taking on some competition it will see later on this season during the Great Northern Conference and WIAA regional meets.
Medford sweeps baseball twinbill from Hodags
The Hodags could not dig out from an early 6-0 deficit in Game 1, eventually falling to Medford, 10-6. A pair of five-run innings - including a grand slam by Medford's Max Dietzman - were enough for the Raiders to cruise to a 10-0 win in the nightcap.

The Rhinelander High School girls' soccer team continued its strong play Tuesday night. Ava Lamers recorded a hat trick and the Hodags turned in their fourth straight shutout in a 4-0 victory over Northland Pines at Mike Webster Stadium.
Hodag softball downs Tomahawk, snaps skid
The Rhinelander High School softball team got some timely hits and a strong pitching performance from senior Addi DeMeyer Tuesday to end a six-game losing streak.
Edge co-op to dissolve, join Northland Pines
The WIAA Board of Control approved on Tuesday a co-op agreement that will see the Northern Edge co-op merge with the neighboring Northland Pines co-op for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 school years.

Hodag soccer continues hot streak, rips Merrill 8-0
The Hodags ran their winning streak to four games on Thursday night. Ava Lamers and Sophie Miljevich each recorded hat tricks, and Leah Jamison chipped in a pair of goals, as Rhinelander knocked off Merrill 8-0 a non-conference contest in the Hodag Dome.
Two big innings bite Hodag baseball in 6-2 loss
Free bases cost the Rhinelander High School baseball team Friday night in a non-conference contest. Marathon scored four times in the fifth inning to break a 2-all tie and downed the Hodags 6-2 at Marathon.

The Rhinelander High School softball team had Great Northern Conference-leading Medford on the ropes for a few innings Thursday afternoon but, ultimately, the top-ranked team in Division 2 had too much firepower.
