Belanger, Roeser punch state tennis ticket
Senior Layne Roeser and junior Joey Belanger won their opening round match and finished third overall in the No. 1 doubles flight last Wednesday in a WIAA Division 1 sectional in Eau Claire.

Hodag softball falls in extras to No. 1 Medford
Finley Arndt beat a throw to the plate on a Zayleah Leonhardt ground ball in the bottom of the ninth inning as top-ranked and top-seeded Medford edged Rhinelander 3-2 in a Division 2 regional semifinal game in Medford.
Hodag golfers take 3rd, move on to sectionals
The Hodags shot 339 and took third in an eight-team WIAA Division 1 regional at their home course. Rhinelander came in as the fifth seed but improved by two spots to qualify as a team for sectionals for the second year in a row.
Hodag tennis sends five flights to sectionals
The Rhinelander High School tennis team more than held its own Monday against the Wisconsin Valley Conference to begin WIAA tournament play.
Hodag track advances 16 entries to sectionals
The Hodags sent 16 entries through to the sectional by virtue of performances in a regional track meet Monday in Colby. Rhinelander took fifth in the boys' division of the eight-team meet and seventh in the girls' division.
Hodag soccer ends regular season with 7-3 win
The Rhinelander High School girls' soccer team regained its offensive form in a big way Tuesday as it closed out the regular season on a high note. Ava Lamers netted three goals and Leah Weigel scored twice as the Hodags knocked off Mosinee 7-3 at Mike Webster Stadium.

The Rhinelander High School boys' tennis team was once again a runaway winner in the Great Northern Conference this season. On Thursday, the Hodags nearly pulled off the perfect capper to a ninth straight conference title.
Hodag softball edges Shawano 1-0 in playoffs
Lily Treder came up with the catch of the year for the Hodag softball team, robbing Marissa Tomashek of a potential game-tying hit with one out in the seventh as the Hodags preserved a 1-0 win over the Hawks in a Division 2 regional quarterfinal game at Andrea Musson Field.
