The Rhinelander High School girls’ wrestling team got its first taste of conference competition on Tuesday as it took part in the first round of the Great Northern/Wisconsin Valley Conference challenge series in Wausau.

The Rhinelander varsity bowling team finished split a pair of close decisions, defeating Merrill/Tomahawk 5-4 before losing to Wittenberg-Birnamwood by the same margin Sunday, Dec. 14 in the second round of Wisconsin High School Bowling Club District 9 play at Dale’s Weston Lanes.

Hodag powerlifters win in Ashland
The Rhinelander High School powerlifting club swept the boys’ and girls’ competitions in a Wisconsin High School Powerlifting Association Region Six meet in Ashland Saturday, Dec. 13. The Hodag boys won with 108 points and the girls won with 96 points.
