Kuester, Sturtevant compete for Hodags at state gymnastics meet
Both Stephanie Kuester and Raven Sturtevant finished toward the bottom of the ranks on Saturday. Kuester was 24th out of 25 gymnasts on floor exercise while Sturtevant was last in the 26-gymnast field on the uneven bars.

Rhinelander High School senior Darin Bloomquist claimed the Wisconsin High School Bowling Club state championship Sunday morning in Weston, defeating Sun Prairie's Austin Est 193-172 in the championship match.

Seniors Jacob DeMeyer and Alec Kurtz each finished third in their brackets while Reuben Guzik finished fifth Saturday after reaching the state semifinals the night before. Three place winners is the most Rhinelander has ever had in a single state tournament.
Bluejays outlast Lady Hodags in regional semis
Merrill shot 70 percent from the field and the trio of Elizabeth Iribarren, Patience Pyan and Maddix Bonnell combined to score 53 points as the fourth-seeded Bluejays defeated the fifth-seeded Hodags 66-56 Friday night in Merrill in a WIAA Division 2 regional semifinal.
A perfect finale
Owen White had an unusual triple-double for the ninth-ranked (AP) Hodags and Rhinelander pulled away in the second half to defeat Mosinee 75-59 Thursday night at the Jim Miazga Community Gymnasium.
Kuester, Sturtevant qualify for state gymnastics
Stephanie Kuester scored an 8.8 on the floor exercise Thursday night and qualified for the WIAA state gymnastics meet out of a Division 2 sectional at Sheldon Fieldhouse in Antigo. She'll be joined as state by junior teammate Raven Sturtevant, who qualified on uneven bars.
