The Rhinelander High School gymnastics team took sixth place Saturday in the maroon division of the Antigo Red Robin Invitational at Sheldon Fieldhouse.

Conor Pequet recorded a hat trick and the Hodags took care of Mosinee 6-2 in the tournament quarterfinals at the RIA. The win advanced Rhinelander to the semifinal round Tuesday night at Waupaca.

Rhinelander grapplers fall to Antigo 49-21
The Hodags won only five of 12 contested bouts and fell to the Antigo Red Robins 49-21 at Sheldon Fieldhouse in Antigo.

The Hodags put a bow on a 10-0 season in dual meet competition Thursday night, winning seven of 11 events and using its superior depth to rout second-place Lakeland 101-56 in Minocqua.

The Hodags remained perfect in the first month of 2019, getting a 31-point effort from Kenedy Van Zile Tuesday night as they defeated Ashland 56-39 in a non-conference game at the Jim Miazga Community Gymnasium.

Missed momentum
Adam Moucha made a free throw with 0.4 seconds remaining as Mosinee clipped the Hodags 70-69 at the Jim Miazga Community Gymnasium after two turnovers in the final 45.6 seconds came back to bite Rhinelander.
Hodag hockey wins East/Merrill tournament
Up 3-0 in both of its contest, the Hodags fended off rallies to defeat Medford 5-3 and East/Merrill 3-2 to take the four-team weekend tournament at the Smith Center.
Hodag gymnasts turn in season-best score in Rice Lake
The Hodags cracked the 120-point mark for the first time this season, putting up a total of 120.225 points as they finished eighth in the 10-team meet comprised of mostly Division 1 schools.
The night the records fell
The senior pair of Nolan Francis and Russell Benoy was on two relays that set new Heck Pool records. Francis took down two other pool marks, and a RHS varsity record to boot, as the Hodags defeated Shawano 114-54 Thursday night in a Great Northern Conference dual.
Northern Edge falls to Pines 3-1
The Eagles scored twice in the second period, which proved to be the difference in a 3-1 victory over the Northern Edge at the Langlade County Multi-Purpose Building.
