The Rhinelander/Elcho high school club bowling teams returned from their holiday break and opened 2019 on a winning note Sunday at Rose Bowl Lanes in Marshfield.

The Rhinelander High School Nordic ski team continues to pick up speed early in the season. Both the Hodag boys and girls squads finished 10th in the 12-team Ascension Hodag Challenge race held Saturday and Sunday at the Cedric A. Vig Outdoor Classroom.

The Rhinelander High School boys' basketball team took command with a strong second half start, had four players score in double digits and took care of Tomahawk 69-43 at Hatchet Fieldhouse.

Back in the pool Thursday, the Rhinelander High School boys' swim team picked up right where it left off prior to the holiday break. The Hodags won 10 of 11 events and cruised to a 99-67 win over the Medford Raiders at Raider Pool.
