The T-Birds scored twice in less than a minute late in the first half and added a penalty kick goal early in the second as they defeated the Hodags 3-0 in Great Northern Conference play at Mike Webster Stadium.
Rhinelander DB Jackson Labs named to WFCA All-Star Game roster
Days after being named All-State at defensive back, Rhinelander High School Jackson Labs received another honor on Friday as he was named to the North Large School roster for the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association All-State Game, which will take place in Oshkosh in July.
WIAA state track, girls' soccer events to remain in La Crosse, Milwaukee
In separate announcements late last week, the WIAA said that its state State Track & Field Championships will stay at Veterans Memorial Stadium in La Crosse on June 24-26, and its Girls' Soccer State Tournament will return to Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee June 24-25.

The Hodags snapped out of a seven-game losing streak in a big way on Monday with a 19-0 rout of Three Lakes in non-conference play and then came home Tuesday to deliver the signature win of the season as they upset Mosinee 6-1 at Pioneer Park.

Though the Hodags had only seven hits, they were patient at the plate, drawing six walks as they took care of the Eagles 10-0 in five innings. The Hodags had nine more hits Tuesday, but fell in a non-conference contest to D.C. Everest, 7-4.
