The winner of tonight's matchup between Rhinelander and Mosinee will move to 5-0 in the GNC and control its own destiny over the final two weeks of the regular season - needing to win only once more to secure at least share of the conference title.

Annika Johnson took a little extra time after dropping the second set and came back strong as she defeated Wausau Newman's Becky Larrain 10-2 in a match tiebreaker to win the conference's No. 1 singles title, and player of the year honors in the process
RNC mountain bike team wins again in Eau Claire
The RNC squad recorded four podium finishes and edged Sauk Prairie by nine points to take first in Division 2 Sunday at Lowes Creek in Eau Claire. The Rhinelander High School squad, down a few riders, took 21st in Division 1.

Hodag tennis wraps up title at suspended GNC meet
Rhinelander went a combined 13-4 in a long day of tennis to lock up its ninth Great Northern Conference title, but still had four individual championship matches in the balance when play was suspended due to darkness following more than nine hours of tennis.

The Rhinelander High School boys' cross country team has entered the conversation as a legitimate Great Northern Conference title contender. On Thursday afternoon, Rhinelander edged defending conference champion Tomahawk 35-47 for the title in the Three Lakes Invite at Big Stone Golf Course.
