Norskies too much for Hodags
The Rhinelander High School girls' soccer team was hoping to give DeForest a much different test than when the Norskies defeated the Hodags 8-1 in the season opener. Saturday's playoff rematch, however, felt much like round 1, and then some.

Gechas wins Schoppe Award again as golf MVP
Senior Kole Gechas earned his second Schoppe Family Award as the most valuable player of the Rhinelander High School golf team Thursday during the team's year-end banquet at Northwood Golf Club.
Resounding opener
Freshman Sophie Miljevich tallied a career-high five goals, Ava Lamers had two goals and four assists and the Hodags rolled Wausau East 10-0 to start the WIAA Division 2 playoffs at Mike Webster Stadium.

Worrall looks to end on high note at WIAA state track meet
Cole Worrall gets to run two more races today in his decorated high school track career. With any luck, the Hodag senior will get to run one or two more races tomorrow.
Hodag golfers last in windy sectional
Rhinelander finished eighth in the eight-team field at Greenwood Hills, shooting one of its highest scores of the season, a 375, in demanding conditions.

Ryan Jamison and Jacksen Smith combined to strike out seven batters and threw a team no-hitter Friday in a 3-0 victory over Merrill in the opening round of the WIAA playoffs.
Track: Worrall qualifies for state in two events
Cole Worrall finished as the runner-up in both the 110-meter hurdles and the 200-meter dash in a WIAA Division 1 sectional in Marshfield, punching his ticket to the state meet to be held later this week in La Crosse.
