The Rhinelander High School boys’ soccer team hung with unbeaten Northland Pines for a while Thursday, Sept. 17, but eventually ran out of steam in the second half. Simon Adamovich scored twice, Ryan Rydeski added a goal and an assist and the Eagles defeated the Hodags 3-0 at Mike Webster Stadium.

Hodag tennis sweeps Medford, vaults to second in GNC
The Hodags claimed all seven flights in straight sets in a resounding 7-0 sweep of the Medford Raiders in Medford. The Raiders (9-4, 2-1 Great Northern) pushed the Hodags (10-8, 3-0) in some matches, but took no more than seven games in any flight as the Hodags won every set by at least one break point.

The Rhinelander High School girls’ swim team remained unbeaten in Great Northern Conference play Thursday, Sept. 10, cruising past Tomahawk 136-25 and hosting Colby/Abbotsford 134-34 in a conference double dual in Colby.
RHS golfers shoot season-best round in Marshfield
The Rhinelander High School girls’ golf team shot its lowest round of the season Friday, carding a 208 as it finished fifth in the fourth round of the Wisconsin Valley Conference golf tournament at Marshfield Country Club.
