The Rhinelander High School girls’ tennis team got its first official matches of the fall Monday and Tuesday as it went 1-5 overall in the Battle on the Fox Invite hosted by Bay Port High School in Suamico.

The Hodags took part in a five-team scrimmage Friday, Aug. 14 at Wittenberg-Birnamwood. The Hodags played Crandon evenly in the first session and Wittenberg-Birnamwood evenly in the last, but struggled in their middle session against Shawano, getting outscored three touchdowns to none.

Northwood, Inshalla ladies raise $6,800 for cancer awareness
Members of the ladies golf league at Northwood Golf Club joined forces with their colleagues at Inshalla Country Club in Tomahawk for a good cause last week. The leagues held their annual golf event in support of cancer awareness last Tuesday. Forty-three golfers took part in the event, which included a nine-hole scramble as well as a dinner and raffles.
