Full speed ahead in year two for Lady Hodags
The Rhinelander High School girls’ golf team is jumping head first into the golf season this year. It competed in its first meet yesterday and is ready to take the leap as a full-fledged varsity program after competing in a handful of exhibition matches last year prior to its first-ever WIAA postseason appearance.
Senior swimmers offer knowledge to open practice
The group of six seniors on the Rhinelander High School girls’ swim team has seen plenty over their careers. Collectively, they’ve been a part of a state-champion squad, a state runner-up and last year’s team that finished third in Madison — not to mention three Great Northern and Division 2 sectional championships.

Northwood, Inshalla ladies raise $6,800 for cancer awareness
Members of the ladies golf league at Northwood Golf Club joined forces with their colleagues at Inshalla Country Club in Tomahawk for a good cause last week. The leagues held their annual golf event in support of cancer awareness last Tuesday. Forty-three golfers took part in the event, which included a nine-hole scramble as well as a dinner and raffles.

The Rhinelander Post 7 Rebels had a near perfect start to their tournament run last weekend as the hosted the Class AA Region 3 tournament at Stafford Field. The finish, however, was anything but perfect as the Rebels’ hopes of a first state appearance since 2022 went up in smoke.

The Rhinelander River Monsters hopes of ending the Dairyland League season with a winning record were dashed Saturday, July 25 by Carter Miller and the Everest Merchants.
Monsters down Whittlesey behind O’Brien’s arm, Schneiders’ bats
The Rhinelander River Monsters assured themselves of at least a .500 regular season record on Wednesday, July 22. Lucas O’Brien struck out five in a complete-game effort and brothers Sam and Joe Schneider combined for seven hits as the Monsters defeated the Whittlesey Reds 10-4 at Stafford Field.
