Extreme heat, wildfire smoke hit Northwoods
Northern Wisconsin dealt with heat advisories and air quality alerts early this week as temperatures above 90 degrees and wildfire smoke plumed in from the Northwest. While the National Weather Service recorded a maximum heat index of 98 degrees at the Rhinelander-Oneida County Airport during this stretch, the three-day heat wave did not set any records in the Northwoods.
