Warm weather may bring about blue green algae blooms

As water temperatures warm with July's warmer air temperatures, many lakes in the Northwoods can become a breeding ground for blue green algae blooms, or Cyanobacteria blooms. Knowing what to look for can go a long way toward keeping people and pets safe from its toxic effects. No matter if blooms are present or not, it does not necessarily mean the water is completely safe. (subscriber access)
