Rhinelander mascot gaining fans through social media

Nearly 130 years after local residents first heard reports that a fearsome beast had been seen lurking in the forests surrounding Rhinelander, the community's iconic mascot continues to gain fans. While word of mouth was extremely effective in spreading the Hodag legend back in 1893, in 2021 people across the U.S. are learning about the Hodag via social media. (subscriber access)
