The narrow-gauge coal burning steam engine #5, nicknamed the "5 Spot," found its retired home as a static display at the Pioneer Park Historical Complex (PPHC) in Rhinelander in 1973. But nearly 50 years later, the 81,000 lb locomotive and its track are sinking into the sandy ground below. (subscriber access)
