Eagle River man in custody following weekend shooting
A 19-year-old Eagle River man is being held in the Vilas County jail on suspicion of homicide by negligent handling of a dangerous weapon. According to the Eagle River Police Department, a call came in at approximately 11:42 p.m. Sept. 3 reporting a disturbance at 421 E. Wall Street in the city of Eagle River and that a male had sustained a gunshot wound.
