Truck burns in Newbold
Newbold First Responders and the Oneida County deputies responded to a report of a burning pickup truck just after 1 p.m. Friday. When they arrived on scene, the truck's engine and passenger compartments were fully engulfed, and a small portion of surrounding grass was also on fire. After quickly extinguishing the blaze, a member of the sheriff's office on scene said the driver of the truck had fled the scene and the cause of the fire was unknown. According to the sheriff's department, the owner of the truck later contacted the deputy investigating the incident and would not identify who was driving the truck, so she was issued county citations for having no insurance on the vehicle and obstruction.
