It's not very often that a judge will reject a joint sentencing recommendation from the state and the defense in a criminal case. Faced with an unusual set of circumstances, Oneida County Circuit Judge Michael Bloom made that choice Friday in sentencing a 60-year-old Tripoli man who held several law enforcement agencies at bay for several hours and threatened to blow up his residence to a three-year prison term.
