new scholarship
The Rhinelander Ruby's Pantry recently presented a check for $1,000 to the Rhinelander Area Scholarship Foundation. Together, they have created a scholarship, "Ruby's Pantry of Rhinelander Scholarship," that will be presented to a deserving RHS graduate to further their education beyond the high school level. Preference will be given to a student that has either volunteered at or has had a family member volunteer at Ruby's Pantry. Pictured (from left to right) are Lynne Friese from Ruby's Pantry, Mary DeNamur, RHS principal David Ditzler and Tracey Barnes, both RASF board members and Ruby's Pantry representatives; Mary Langlois, Santa Claus, Joel Sandberg, and Theresa Nordquist, Ruby's Pantry representatives. Ruby's Pantry, is a non-profit organization that procures and distributes corporate surplus food and goods to help fight poverty, hunger and disease in rural communities in the United States for those with low resources and in crisis through churches, food shelves and other local civic organizations.
