Joe Duchac, his wife Kathy and daughter Jodi recently purchased $1,000 worth of gift cards to Walmart so families in need could pick up school supplies. "At the food pantry, we can fill them up with food but we can't give them pencils and books and stuff but this is going to help," Joe Duchac said. Jane Motowski, RAFP manager, will distribute the cards to families in need. The Rhinelander Area Food Pantry helps an average of 450 families a month with anywhere from 500 to 600 visits a month, as families can come every two weeks.
