Snowshoe baseball legacy lives on in Lake Tomahawk

Snowhawks season starts June 22

Snowshoe baseball in Lake Tomahawk started in 1961 when the town chairman, Ray Sloan, decided to provide summer entertainment to town residents and tourists by taking a winter sport and playing it in the summer months. Lake Tomahawk's winter snowshoe softball team eventually became snowshoe baseball champions of the world. (Subscriber access)
