UW-Stevens Point baseball's Bradley Comer, a 2018 Rhinelander High School graduate, was named to the D3baseball.com All-America fifth team, the organization announced last week.
Wisconsin Hockey HOF names 2023 inductees
At its annual meeting, the board of directors of the Wisconsin Hockey Hall of Fame named its Class of Inductees for 2023. Selected for induction to the Hall of Fame, Sept. 9 in Eagle River are Karyn Bye-Dietz of Hudson, Sis Paulsen of Stoughton and Terry Watkins of Menomonie.
Everest tames River Monsters in road tilt
The Rhinelander River Monsters struggled in all aspects last Friday night as they suffered their first loss of the Dairyland League season. The Monsters managed only two hits, struck out 16 times and compiled four errors in a 9-0 loss on the road to the Everest Merchants at Simon Field.

White edges Zdroik to claim Eagle River B-Mod opener
Hometown driver Dustin White inherited the lead on a restart with 10 laps to go and fought off a challenge by former track champion Jason Zdroik to capture the opening night B-Modified feature win at Eagle River Speedway Sunday.
River Monsters claim home opener over Marshfield
Ryan Jamison allowed two hits over seven innings, the River Monsters got 10 hits from 10 different players and committed only one error in an 8-2 victory over the Marshfield Chaparrals.

A 'monsterous' debut
There were a lot of first collected by some familiar names on Sunday as they began a new chapter of Rhinelander baseball. Most importantly, the newly-minted River Monsters collected their first win in Rhinelander's return to the adult baseball scene.

The James Williams Middle School track team scored a sweep of the boys' and girls' division of a five-team meet at Mike Webster Stadium Monday, May 8. The JWMS boys won by 58 points over Medford while the Hodag girls bested Medford by 43 1/2 points.
