Fire chief pays tribute to fallen assistant chief

Eighth graders visit Nicolet for College and Career Day

Hundreds of local eighth-grade students explored their future careers at Nicolet College in October. Students traveled for a day of learning at Nicolet College from Crandon, Mercer, North Lakeland School, Wabeno, Phelps, Elcho, Rhinelander, Minocqua-Hazelhurst-Lake Tomahawk, and Nativity Catholic School.

SDR drama department to present ‘Footloose, The Musical’

The School District of Rhinelander Drama Department has announced its fall production will be “Footloose, The Musical.” Performances are set for Thursday, November 21 through Sunday, November 24 at the John and Dori Brown Performing Arts Center at Rhinelander High School, according to an SDR press release.

Local nurse honored with DAISY Award

Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital recently honored Alexis Cardelli, RN, with the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses “in recognition of her commitment and patient-centered approach to care.” The award is part of the DAISY Foundation’s program to recognize the super-human efforts nurses perform every day, according to an Aspirus press release.

No lawyer yet for woman charged with reckless homicide

The state public defender’s office is still looking for an attorney to represent a 37-year-old Rhinelander woman charged with first-degree reckless homicide in connection with the death of her four-month-old child in April 2020.

Rhinelander Community Band fall concert Nov. 13
