Hodag girls win Three Lakes Invite, boys take 2nd
The Hodag girls won six events as they defeated GNC rival Tomahawk for the title in the seven-team Three Lakes Invite. The Hodag boys scored four wins and came home second behind the hosting Bluejays.
RHS tennis drops tight match to SPASH
The Hodags swept doubles but SPASH took all the singles matches as the Panthers prevailed 4-3 in a non-conference match at the RHS tennis courts.
Free bases cost Hodag baseball vs. Everest
The Rhinelander High School baseball team had to earn every base it got on Tuesday. It couldn’t say the same for its opponent as D.C. Everest slowly pulled away to an 8-0 victory at Stafford Field in non-conference play.
Hodag softball falls in rematch against Northland Pines
Four-run innings for the Eagles in the fourth and sixth were too much for the Hodags to overcome in an 11-5 loss in Eagle River.
Hodag golfers 2nd at Marathon
The Hodags shot 345 and finished second in the non-conference invitational at Pine Galley Golf Course. Rhinelander finished eight strokes behind GNC rival Medford for the top spot on a day when nobody in the Hodag lineup broke 80.

WIAA membership strikes down NIL proposal, approves 2 amendments
The member schools of the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association passed two amendments, defeated a much-deliberated Name, Image, Likeness (NIL) proposal, and conducted other membership business at the 128th Annual Meeting in Stevens Point Wednesday, April 24.

RHS track places top 3 at Eagle Relays
The Hodag boys won three events, tallied six other top-three finishes and took second in the nine-team meet. The Hodag girls won four events and finished a close third in the standings behind GNC rivals Northland Pines and Tomahawk.

The Rhinelander High School golf team became well-acquainted with Medford’s Black River Golf Course Thursday and Friday, playing the nine-hole loop four times in a pair of matches.

Hodag tennis downs Antigo, splits Wausau matches
The Rhinelander High School boys’ tennis team carried on in Great Northern Conference play on Thursday, defeating a short-handed Antigo squad 6-1 on the road. The Hodags then mostly dodged the weather Friday and Saturday, getting in four of their five scheduled matches in the Wausau West Invite, going 2-2.
