The Hodags converted three fourth downs - part of a clock-grinding 16-play, 75-yard scoring drive in which Rhinelander exerted its will - as it defeated Prescott 28-6 in the 2018 season opener at Mike Webster Stadium.
Hodag netters nearly perfect at home invite
Rhinelander won nearly every match as it took first place in its home quadrangular meet. The Hodags started with a 7-0 win over Merrill, followed by a 6-1 win over Ashland and closed with another 7-0 whitewashing of Ironwood, Mich.

Something to build on
The Hodags will open the 2018 season at home against Prescott at Mike Webster Stadium, the first of three non-conference contests for Rhinelander before opening Great Northern Conference play at home against Medford Sept. 7.
Depth carries Hodag netters to title in Wausau
The Hodags went a perfect 5-0 and won the Wausau West Invitational. Coach Bob Heideman said it was the first time Rhinelander has won the traditional multi-day dual meet invitational to kick off the season.
