Kenedy Van Zile scored a game-high 28 points and the Hodags used an 18-0 run midway through the second half to seize control as they defeated Mosinee 58-47 Friday night in the Great Northern Conference opener at the Jim Miazga Community Gymnasium.

For the second time in three nights, the Rhinelander High School boys' swim team claimed all 11 events and cruised to victory in a GNC dual, this time defeating Medford 112-52 Thursday at the Heck Family Community Pool.

Lady Hodags split games in Antigo
It was a tale of two games for Rhinelander, who split its games in the Tom Kislow Memorial at Sheldon Fieldhouse in Antigo in blowout fashion. The Hodags defeated Wausau East 81-49 on Friday and then lost to Eau Claire Memorial 59-30 Saturday.

The Rhinelander High School wrestling program looks significantly different than it did a year ago. Coach Paul Ellenbecker stepped down at the end of the season and the Hodags lost a large graduating class of seven seniors - five of whom qualified for the WIAA state tournament.
