All-conference honorees
The Hodag football had 11 different players receive all-conference recognition from the coaches. That matches the most the team has had in its 10 seasons in the GNC, matching the 11 honorees the team had in 2012.
RHS swimmers set sights on first conference title since 2002
It's been a long dry spell for the Hodags since they won their last girls' swimming conference title - 17 years to be exact - but it could all come to an end tomorrow night in Stevens Point in the Great Northern Conference meet hosted by Medford.
RNC takes home state D2 cycling crown
The Hodag bikers put a bow on their first ever team state championship on Sunday, capturing the Wisconsin High School Cycling League Division 2 state crown in the 2019 series finale in Waterloo at the proving grounds of the Trek Bicycle Corporation.
Wildcat wallop
Rhinelander was no match for third-seeded River Falls, falling behind 22-0 in the first quarter en route to a 43-8 defeat in Level 1 of the WIAA Division 3 playoffs at Ramer Field on the campus of UW-River Falls.
Hodag harries finish mid-pack at sectionals
Rhinelander finished smack dab in the middle of the field, placing seventh out of 14 complete teams in the girls' division and eighth out of 15 in the boys' division of a WIAA Division 2 sectional at Edgewater Country Club in Tomahawk.

On Thursday, Oct. 24, U.S. Army members Leslie Fuenffinger and Hayden Tuma, part of the Army World Class Athlete Program, conducted a two-hour wrestling clinic for middle and high school wrestlers in the James Williams Middle School balcony.
Seeking sectional improvement
With a young squad this year and a talent-laden Division 2 sectional, the Hodags know they have their work cut out for them as they get set to race in Tomahawk today.
Johnson voted RHS girls' tennis MVP
Annika Johnson, Rhinelander's No. 1 singles player, received the Hodag tennis team's most valuable player award during a banquet last Sunday at The Haven restaurant. The award was voted on by her peers.
SDR Special Olympians compete at bowling regionals
The School District of Rhinelander's Special Olympics team participated in the 2019 Regional Bowling Meet Saturday, Oct. 20 at Dale's Weston Lanes in Weston.

Hodag JVs compete at GNC cross country meet
The Rhinelander High School junior varsity cross country team finished out its season in the Great Northern Conference meet at the Gartzke Flowage Ski Trails in the Town of Bryant Saturday, Oct. 19.

The journey continues
If you ask RHS football coach Aaron Kraemer, simply qualifying for the playoffs - which start Friday night at River Falls - is not enough. Rhinelander wants to do something it has never done before, win a playoff game.
Hodags squander lead, fall to Lakeland on PKs
Lakeland scored three unanswered goals to tie the match early in the second half and eventually prevailed in a penalty kick shootout, 5-4, to end the RHS boys' soccer team's season.
PLAYOFF BOUND
The Hodags found a way to fend off winless Ashland 16-12 at Weikal Field, becoming playoff eligible for only the third time in school history and the first time since 2012.
