The Rhinelander High School boys' swim team picked up a pair of victories late last week in their first traditional meets of the 2022-23 season.

The Rhinelander High School wrestling team went to Antigo with a small lineup on Saturday. The Hodags wrestled only nine competitors and placed 16th in the 19-team John Roberts Scramble.

The Northern Edge girls' hockey co-op opened a three-game homestand Saturday against Chippewa Falls/Menomonie. Playing short-handed, the Edge took an 11-1 loss to the Sabers at Lakeland Ice Arena.

Max Ratty led the way with 13 points and the Hodags forced 29 turnovers to put the breaks on Crandon in a 60-37 non-conference win.

Junior Abi Winnicki's strong season for the Rhinelander High School girls' swim team was honored Monday night as she took home the MVP award in the team's season-ending banquet at the Cedric A. Vig Outdoor Classroom.
