Overall, it ended up being a strong year for the Hodags, who took home the team conference titles in boys' skiing and boys' snowboarding and individual conference crowns in three of the conference's four divisions.

Losch, Roeser, Schneider share Hodag hockey's Al Baker Award
In the 34 years the Rhinelander High School boys' hockey team has handed out the Al Baker Outstanding Hockey Player Award, it has never done what it did on Thursday night. For the first time in the award's history, there were three recipients of the award.
Lamers takes home Lady Hodags' most improved, toughness awards
The Rhinelander High School girls' basketball team does not hand out a most valuable player award. Ava Lamers played like one for the Lady Hodags this year, however, and earned two of the program's top honors.

Team review: Hodag Nordic skiing
The Rhinelander Nordic ski program is not yet able to hang with some of the top high school Nordic clubs in the state, but there were signs during the 2022-23 season that the Hodags may be beginning to trend in that direction.

Hodag Squirts rally to take third at state
The ending for the Rhinelander Ice Association's Squirt A team on Sunday was almost identical to the last time the RIA had a team in a WAHA state tournament it hosted.
Many hands make light work of track practice
The RHS track team has more coaches on board this year than it's had the past couple of seasons. That made Monday's first practice a bit easier and will also lessen the burden on head coach Aaron Kraemer throughout the year.
