Lady Hodags' losing streak hits six
The Hodags had two starters foul out down the stretch and failed to make a field goal over the final 10 minutes as they fell to Antigo 52-49 at Sheldon Fieldhouse. The loss came on the heels of a 60-33 loss at Wisconsin Rapids Assumption a night earlier.
Northern Edge downs Pines again
Taylor Heleniak recorded a hat trick and Maria Gironella scored the two other goals as the Edge skated to a 5-2 win over the Eagles Monday at the Eagle River Sports Arena.

The Rhinelander High School wrestling team had a busy stretch to end last week, dropping both of its matches in a home quadrangular on Thursday night before finishing 19th Saturday in the Merrill Bluejay Invite.
Strong third period propels Hodag hockey past Medford
Rhinelander scored four goals in the first 6 1/2 minutes of the third period, and scored five unanswered in the third overall, as it skated into the Great Northern Conference lead with a 8-3 victory over the Medford Raiders.
Hodag gymnasts compete at Lakeland, Wis. Rapids
A short-handed Rhinelander High School gymnastics team finished last in both of its meets this week, taking third in a triangular at Lakeland Thursday night before placing eighth in the Charlie Martin Invitational Saturday in Wisconsin Rapids.
Nordic skiing: Hodags race at Snekkevik
The Hodag girls were eighth out of 10 complete teams and the Hodag boys were 10th in a field of 12 at the Snekkevik Ski Races in Wausau.

Both the RHS boys' basketball game at Medford and RHS girls' basketball contest versus Medford were postponed Tuesday after Medford nixed its after school activities for the day.
Wrestling: Kurtz places 6th in return at Northern Badger
The Rhinelander High School junior Owen Kurtz competed in his first matches of the season and placed sixth in the 285-pound weight class at the Northern Badger Wrestling Classic in River Falls.

The Rhinelander High School boys' basketball team made it a clean sweep against Ashland Wednesday, Dec. 28 at the Jim Miazga Community Gymnasium. Not only did the Hodags rout Ashland 85-46 in the varsity contest, Rhinelander scored a 52-44 win in the JV game and took the JV2 contest, 60-43.
Offensive breakthrough
Rhinelander knocked down 11 3-pointers and shot a season-best 59.6% from the field in an 85-46 win over Ashland Wednesday at the Jim Miazga Community Gymnasium.
