Norma Riemer

Norma Riemer, 85, of Pelican Lake, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loved ones, on September 12, 2026. She was born May 22nd, 1941, to Norbert and Julia Hageny. She attended Rhinelander High School. She spent many years as a nurse's aide and worked in many different facilities.

She met William Riemer in Rhinelander at a dance. From there, it was a match made in heaven! They got married on March 12, 1960, and created a beautiful family in Sussex. When both retired, they moved to Pelican Lake, where they both enjoyed many more years together.

She enjoyed bingo, playing cards, crocheting, watching cooking shows, loved her Elvis, and most of all loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. There was never a moment that she did not have a smile on her face when spending time with them.

She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her in-laws, Herbert and Rosalyn Riemer, her son, David Riemer, sons-in-law, Sonny Kovacs and Timothy Schuldt, sisters Irene Rappley, Mary Jean Trindal, Judith Winchell, and Nancy Hobbs, and brothers Norbert (John) and Thomas Hageny. She is survived by her daughters Cindy Kovacs, Patricia Schuldt, and Nancy (Jim) Scherer, son Robert (Brenda) Riemer, and adopted son James (Jeannette) Buege. Grandchildren Andrew and Daniel Sherbinow, Shannon Schuldt (Brandon Busalacchi), Shannon Krueger, John (Stephanie) Riemer, Brittany (Ryan) Siemers, Mariah (Maurice) Peterson, Brendan (Hollie) Riemer-Langlois, William and Jeremy Scherer. Great-grandchildren Isaiah, Nathan, Audrey, Aiden, Colin, Aurora, Landon, Christian, Alaya, William, Brandon, Melody, Jayden, Jacey, Jayla, and Justus. Further survived by a sister Donna Colburn, a brother Jim Hageny, nieces, nephews, and friends who will also carry her memories in their hearts.

Visitation for Norma will be held from 10 a.m. to noon, with prayers at noon on Monday, Sept. 21, 2026 at the Carlson Funeral Home in Rhinelander. Interment will be in the Enterprise Cemetery.
