William "Bill" Maule

William "Bill" Maule, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2026, surrounded by his family. Born on March 6, 1945, in Waukesha, Bill was the youngest of six children of John and Frances Maule.

Bill graduated from Oconomowoc High School in 1964. He served in the Army Reserves from 1966 to 1972. Following his military service, Bill pursued a career with the Telephone industry including repair, cable splicing and locating for 35 years.

On February 24, 1968, Bill married the love of his life, Katherine "Kathy" Grimm. Together, they built a beautiful family. Bill is survived by his devoted wife Kathy, and their daughters, Beth (Rob) Timm and Julie (Don) Judnic. He took immense pride in his grandchildren, Allie (Doug) Philpott, John (Natalie) Timm, Rachel (Bryce) Balke, Megan (Ryan) Simenson, and Joe (Ava Dieck) Judnic, and was further blessed with four great-grandchildren: Jace, William, Jacob Timm, and Hank Simenson.

Bill is also survived by his siblings, Tom (Claudia) Maule and Marcia Maule, along with numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in his heart. He was predeceased by his parents, John Maule and Frances (Bud) Gramling; his brothers, Dave, Robert (Dorothy), and Gerald (Mary) Maule; his sister Sally (Don Stadler); and nephews Craig Maule and Jeff Thompson.

An avid fisherman, Bill found peace and joy on our beloved Wisconsin River property where he casted lines and shared stories. In his younger years, he loved to pheasant and rabbit hunt with his devoted dogs. In is youth he was an outstanding catcher and home run hitter with the Land O' Lakes Baseball and he was inducted in to the Hall of Fame. Other activities Bill enjoyed doing was his pool league, bowling, clay shooting, horseshoes, and softball. Known for his quick wit and warm smile, Bill had a unique ability to bring light and laughter to any room. His generosity and kindness touched countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on everyone he met.

A service to celebrate Bill's life will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 11 a.m. with a visitation from 9 to 11 a.m., all at Immanuel Lutheran Church, located at 21 W. Timber Dr., Rhinelander, WI 54501. Reverend Morgan Simmons will be officiating. Interment will be in the Northwoods National Cemetery at a later date. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a wonderful man whose spirit will forever remain in their hearts.

Bill's legacy of love, laughter, and warmth will continue to shine through the lives of his family and friends. He will be dearly missed but lovingly remembered.
