Joan Seeke



Joan Seeke, 91 of North Port, Fla., passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family August 31, 2026. She was born July 11, 1935, in Rhinelander, WI to Belford and Emily Krouze.

She moved to the North Port area from Rhinelander after retiring from the Oneida County Sheriff’s department as Clerk Matron. She was the first deputized woman in the County. Joan devoted her life to her faith, family, and friends, raising her children with love, an adventurous spirit, kindness and patience.

She is survived by her husband, Warren Seeke of North Port, Fla., son Charles (Kathy) Kopp of Rhinelander, daughters Kathy (Greg Szypulski) Kopp of Brooklyn Park, Minn., Shelly (Jimmy) Moloney of Las Vegas, Nev., Jody Seeke of Vulcan, Mich., 4 grandchildren, Joshua (Rev. Lydia) Svenulski; Amy Szypulski; Jason McNeal; Jordan McNeal; and one great-grandchild, Freya Svenulski. She is also survived by Barbara Bergman (sister-in-law) and David Schlieter (brother-in-law).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Belford and Emily Krouze, her brother Robert Krouze, her sister in laws Beverly Krouze and Sandra Schlieter and her late husband Charles Kopp.

Visitation for Joan will be held from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 11, 2026, at the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church in Rhinelander, WI. Father Jerome D’Souza will be officiating. Interment will be in the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Cemetery. You may leave our private condolences for Joan’s family at www.carlsonfh.com.
