Lorena Sue (Sparks) Klunder

Lorena Sue (Sparks) Klunder, 65, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at home. Lorena was born on March 23, 1961 in Rhinelander to Frank and Ruth (Maas) Sparks. She graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1979. Lorena has worked hard her entire life. Her last job was at Rennes Health and Rehab. She has also worked at the Rhinelander School District as a lunch lady and she worked 26 years at Kids Korner Pizza. She loved thrifting/antiquing and taking trips, especially out west. The most important thing in life to her was her family and friends. She loved everyone so much and had the biggest and kindest heart.

She is survived by her loving husband Pat who she married on August 24, 1982. Her son Kurtis (Satina) Klunder and daughter Leela Klunder and fiance Karl Hankey, grandson Alex Klunder and sister Wilma (Dean) Mullins. Sister-in-law Debbie Schramke, Brother-in-law Tim Klunder, and Brother-in-law Jerry O’Brien. Special nieces Chrissy (Jerry) Schreiber, Cory (Bert) Burns, Amy, Lisa, and Jess Sparks, and Becky Miller. Nephews Joey Mullins (Godson), Adam and Shaun Sparks, and Jimmy Gomez. Special great nieces and nephews Brianna (Dylan), Aaron (Angel), Zack, Abbi, Sarah, Raelyn, Wesley, Cameron, Molly, Lilah, Ethan, Chance, Bryson, Johnny, John, and special friends Dave and Mary Stilen, Jim and Gail Thomm, and the Wittmann Family.

She is preceded by her parents Frank and Ruth, her stepfather Robert-Weisling, her brothers Wes and Mike Sparks, her sisters Deb Alsteen and Barb O’Brien, and nephews Cameron Sparks and James Jr.

Visitation for Lorena will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. with memorial services following at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2026 at the Carlson Funeral Home. Reverend Mark Ring will be officiating.
