Martin (Marty) Bowman

Martin (Marty) Bowman, 63, of Rhinelander, passed away on October 5, 2026, at Howard Young Medical Center, surrounded by his loved ones.

Marty proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1980 to 1983. Over the years, he worked at Country Kitchen, a longtime town staple, as well as Marplex, U.S. Stick, and Aqualand.

Marty had a wonderful sense of humor and loved making people laugh. Whether he was speaking in pig Latin or using a funny voice, he had his own way of bringing laughter to the people around him. Those things were part of who he was and will remain special memories for those who knew and loved him.

He had a generous heart and a way of putting others before himself. Marty was willing to help someone in need, even when he was going through struggles of his own. His kindness and the care he showed others will not be forgotten.

Marty was a proud father and never missed an opportunity to tell his children how proud he was of them. He celebrated their accomplishments, big and small, and made sure they knew how much their achievements meant to him.

Marty is survived by his children, Andrew, Nicholas, Courtney, Bryana, and Charisse; his grandchildren; his sisters, Lisa MaKarrall (Kevin), Becky Klein (Tim), and Jenny Maass (Mike); and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Bruce Bowman, his mother, Lynne Dibbles, and his beloved dog, Zeus.

He leaves behind many memories, plenty of laughter, and a lasting place in the hearts of those who loved him. He will be missed and remembered with love.
