Brenda Johnson

Brenda Johnson, 86, of DeKalb, Ill., went to heaven Monday, October 26, 2026, at her home.

She was born October 2, 1940, in Rhinelander, the daughter of Chester and Malenda (Lader) Hatleback.

Brenda enjoyed spending time at the lake in Rhinelander with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers fan. She worked for the DeKalb School District for many years before retiring in 2003. She was also a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in DeKalb and enjoyed participating in the Ladies Card Group.

She is survived by her children Stephen Johnson of Temperance, Michigan; Randall (Shawna) Johnson of Vernon Hills, Ill., Molly Johnson of Wheaton, Ill. and Kathy (Keith) Dmochowski of Bolingbrook, Ill.; her daughter-in-law Janelle Johnson of Cortland, Ill.; nine grandchildren Mitchell (Dani Sernett) Johnson, Samantha (Tess Fischer) Johnson, Nihcolas Johnson, Jessica (Colin) Graeme, Megan Johnson, Justin (Kylee) Dmochowski, Connor Dmochowski, Phoebe Dmochowski, and Luke Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bruce; her son Gregory Johnson, and her brother Richard Hatleback.

A celebration of life will be held in 2027, with details to be announced at a later date.
