ABC Honors

The Rhinelander Athletic Booster Club held its 44th annual awards banquet Wednesday, May 19 at The Pines Event Center in Rhinelander.

Seniors Libbey Buchmann, left, and Ben Olson, right, were the recipients of the ABC’s $1,000 student-athlete scholarships.

Ray Novotny, left, receives the ABC’s Heart of the Hodag award from Rhinelander Ice Association assistant rink manager Anthony Turek for his contributions to Rhinelander sports. Novotny was the public address at the RIA for Rhinelander High School hockey games from 2001-2021. 

Additionally, the ABC inducted two long-time media members — River News sports editor Jeremy Mayo and photographer Bob Mainhardt — into the Hodag Hall of Fame. More on their induction will be published in a future edition of the River News.
