Robert J. Deede, 62, of Rhinelander, passed away on May 7, 2026, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on December 9, 1963, in Ashwaubenon, the son of Robert and Marilyn (Schalz) Deede.
Robert graduated from Ashwaubenon High School before serving in the United States Marine Corps, stationed in California. After his military service, he returned to Wisconsin and built a life rooted in hard work, music, family, and adventure.
A skilled laborer, carpenter, and handyman, Robert had a gift for building and fixing things with his hands. He enjoyed hunting, listening to music loud enough to feel it, cheering for the Green Bay Packers, and living life on his own terms. He also loved horses, rodeo, and the cowboy way of life, with a love for open land and freedom. He was funny, stubborn, wild-hearted, and unforgettable to those who knew him.
Robert’s life came with many challenges, and at times struggles and life circumstances created distance between him and the people he loved. Even so, those who knew him will remember the laughter, stories he shared, and the quieter moments when his kindness and heart showed through. Like anyone, he was far more than the hardships he faced, and those closest to him will remember his humor, spirit, and kindness.
He is survived by his daughters, Cecilia (Kerry) Bloedorn and Emma Deede; his son, Robert (Krystle) Deede; his grandchildren, Drak, Cedric, and Jett; and his sister, Catherine Deede.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Marilyn Deede.
A celebration of Robert’s life will be announced at a later date. You may leave private condolences for the family at www.carlsonfh.com.
“Your death will come on an ordinary day, in the middle of unfinished plans, and the world will continue. So live a little.”
