Boys’ tennis: Rhinelander 1-1, Rhinelander Invite
The Rhinelander High School boys’ tennis team split its matches Saturday in the last day of its home invite, falling to Hudson 7-0 before downing Baldwin-Woodville 5-2.
All seven matches against Hudson were decided in straight sets. That wasn’t the case against Baldwin-Woodville as four matches were decided in tiebreakers — with the Hodags claiming three of them.
Asher Rivord (No. 1 singles) and Aidan Lueder (No. 3 singles) earned straight-set wins against Baldwin-Woodville. Kellen O’Malley, playing No. 4 singles, won in a tiebreaker, as did Rhinelander’s top two doubles flights of Danek Koniar/Henry Bonardelli and Roan Childs/Owen Evers.
The Hodags (15-10, 4-0 Great Northern) will host the GNC meet Thursday.
A full report will be published in Tuesday’s River News.
